Environment Day Each Day #8 & #9 ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒฟ

Hello everybody๐Ÿ™‹!!! Hope you all are keeping in good health and are staying safe wherever you are.

I know I have been posting every month some or the other facts or points related to environment but last month I could not post as I was not keeping well then eventually I forgot by the time I realized just 10 days were left for the monthof September to start.

So our today’s environmental related topic is – How carbon footprints needs to be reduced

First let us understand –

What are carbon footprints?

It is the amount of gas which is emitted into the atmosphere because of the activities performed by an individual, event, service, organization or any product in general.

Main gas – Carbon Dioxide

Why the name carbon footprints ?

The name and the concept was developed by William E. Rees and Marhis Wackernagel in 1990s and the name was derived

Why carbon footprints need to be reduced?

As these gases are warm in nature and are very harmful for our environment. It slowly leads to climactic changes thus global warming is cause. The ice caps at the poles starts melting which increases the the water content also as the ozone layer starts melting it starts giving an easy pathway to the harmful UV rays which are emitted from sun. This thus leads to our planet becoming more warmer in nature which further harms us as well as animals, aquatic animals, plants etc.

How to reduce carbon footprints?

Use the method of 5R’s: refuse, reduce, reuse, rot, recycle. We must lower the temperature of the water heater in your house. Buy energy efficient appliances and reduce the usage of air conditioners, dishwashers or thermostats. Try to avoid keeping any kind of toxic materials or use of chemicals at home. Dispose your household wastes and contaminants properly and don’t stack them at your home. Keep separate dust bins for paper plastic and organic. It will be easier for you as well as for person who comes to collect garbage.

Nobody is telling you to stop doing all these activities at one go but we can surely reduce doing all these for the betterment of our environment. In return we are helping our own selves right.

At my home we have a practice of keeping two bins one for biodegradable wastes and other for non biodegradable wastes. Everything becomes sorted but just before throwing any waste we need to think for two seconds in which bin should we throw the waste thats it๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  1. We all certainly need to do our bit which helps the environment. Some are not doing enough though, or jeopardise everyone else’s work by not observing what should go in which bin. Or not being bothered at all.

  2. Great post. Nice way to share awareness on our environment, which day by day is getting weaker and weaker. But thankfully having plants has became a thing now again. ๐Ÿ˜„

  3. Hey Manjul, a commendable post where we can all make effort in reducing waste and promoting greenery. I have cut the use of plastic bags at supermarket and use the nylon ones. Separating waste is important.
