Environment Day Each Day #6 🌱🌳🌴🌿

Hello everybody🙋!!! Hope you all are keeping in good health, staying fit and most importantly washing your hands properly, staying neat & clean and staying safe wherever you are.

So its the month of June already it seems like we are sitting at home since ages right😂😂 but can’t help will have to follow the rules and regulations in order to protect us. Anyways so whats so special about today??? Today is 5th of June, this day is celebrated as World Environment Day on that note what could have been a better occasion than today for my monthly environmental post. 🌱🌳Let me share with you some points about this day…..🌿🌴

In which year was WED first celebrated?
👉World Environment Day (WED) was first celebrated in the year 1974.

What is the main moto for WED celebration?
👉In order to spread awareness and to encourage actions taken for the protection of our environment.

Every year there is a theme for WED. What is the theme for WED the year 2020?
👉To celebrate Biodiversity
(For 2019 it was Air pollution)

WED was established by whom? 👉United Nations General Assembly

Which country has been choosen to host WED this year?
👉This year Colombia has been chosen as the country to host the World Environment Day 2020 event in collaboration with Germany.

What is the difference between World Environment Day and Earth Day and Earth hour?
👉Earth Day is kind of similar to WED that is celebrated every year on the 22nd of April and Earth Hour is celebrated every year on the last Saturday of the month of March from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. While Earth Day is an event that is celebrated every year on 22nd of April to gather support for protection of the environment, Earth hour is another event organized by WWF that encourages millions of people around the world to switch off their lights for one hour in order to show their dedication towards mother Earth.

Normally Environment day is celebrated in many schools and colleges where on small scale painting or poster making completion is conducted in order to spread awareness amongst the students. Environmental short movies and video clips are shown and lastly a small session of planting saplings is taught to students. But sadly this time it will not be possible but non the less you can still continue to do so at your home as well by just taking care of your plants watering them well and by continuing the process of nurturing them which you have been following and dont forget to keep a tray of water and a tray of grains for the birds as well. Teach your younger ones at home about your mother earth.
